Celebrate Christmas with Alfred Hitchcock

Born in 1899, August 13, this genius was solely responsible to begin the era of thriller. Famously known as the master of suspense, he has produced some great works in the history of world cinema. His brilliance inspired a new generation of filmmakers and triggered the detective within all.
He is none other than the legendary Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, the man who has been loved and respected over a century now for his contribution to the world of art and literature.

Mr. Hitchcock began his film making career in the year 1919 and over the years mastered in scripting, editing and art direction. An avid reader that he was, Hitchcock drew his inspiration from authors such as Oscar Wilde, Charles Dickens, Gilberth Keith Chesterton and John Bucchan. When Hitchcock stumbled upon John Bucchan's The 39 Steps, he was inspired by the plot and turned it into a classic that we all cherish even to this date.

The 39 Steps released in1935 received a huge success at its time and in the year 2005, this evergreen movie was staged as a play for the first time at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. In the year 2008, the play billed as Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps, opened in Broadway. The Broadway show saw 771 performances and is known as the longest running Broadway play in seven years. The play's concept calls for the entirety of the movie and is performed nearly verbatim on stage. The uniqueness of the play lies in the fact that 4 actors perform 140 characters. A dramatic excellence that is presented  to you in a breakneck speed, with lightening fast character changes.
